Hitler was considered a "correct" soldier but was reportedly unpopular with his comrades because of an uncritical attitude toward officers. "Respect the superior, don't contradict anybody, obey blindly," he said, describing his attitude while on trial in 1924.
Soon after the takeover of power in 1933, Nazi concentration camps were established for political opponents. The first people that were sent to the camps were Communists.  They were sent because of their ties with the Soviet Union and because Nazism greatly opposed Communism.  Nazi propaganda dismissed the Communists as "Red subhumans".
